Retro-engineering: Realizing the Peugeot logo for vintage cars
Protolis succeeded to reproduce the famous Peugeot logo for vintage cars. Our client, who specializes in automotive parts for the after-market, called on our expertise. Thanks to our know-how in retro engineering and low volume production, we have designed the logo that meets the high requirements of the industry.
A precise mission for an exceptional client
Our client wanted to reproduce the Peugeot logo with a high-quality finish, essential for the aesthetics of vintage cars. Protolis was chosen for its ability to offer precise prototyping and quality low-volume production.
The key steps of the retro engineering project
Here are the steps we took to make this project a reality:
- Design and validation: Without an initial plan, we validated the shape and assembly of the logo after several testings. We had to create and test 11 versions to get the exact curvature of the logo approved by our client.
- Prototyping : After validation of the design, the realization of several prototypes was necessary. This step is to test whether the designed logo met the client’s quality standards.
- Reinforcement of the assembly : We have enhanced the assembly of the aluminum sheet and the logo through a heat welding technique, in order to guarantee optimal robustness.
- Injection mold manufacturing : Once the client validated design, we created the injection mold and produced several samples for validation. The first samples showed incoherence between the curvature of the base and the aluminum sheet. This required some adjustments of the base and optimizations of the mold.
- Mass production : After the customer validated the samples, we started the mass production and delivered the product in just 10 days.
A successfully completed project
Thanks to our rigor and expertise in prototyping and low volume manufacturing, this project was completed on time and the result entirely satisfying. The reproduction of logo for vintage cars has exceeded client expectations, demonstrating our reputation as a reliable partner.
